Oncology Nurse
Location: Oregon
My client is seeking an exceptional Manager of Nursing Services.
Position will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Clinical Director to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives.
- Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
- Travel to clinical sites within the practice to ensure the standards of patient care are being followed by the nursing staff.
- Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices.
- Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
- Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
- Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
- Staff Development
- Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
- Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BSN required from an accredited program for professional nursing education from four-year college or university; Masters strongly preferred.
- Business education courses preferred.
- Minimum seven years actively practicing as a registered nurse, with three years oncology experience.
- Three years in a leadership position (preferably oncology or complex specialty) required.
- Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current CPR certification required.
- OCN credential strongly preferred.
